NFL: Houston wins Texans duel

Houston Texans

Houston Texans shook the ghost of their poor performance against the New Orleans Saints with a renewed attitude against Dallas Cowboys on Saturday at the Reliant Stadium. About 70.725 Houston fans went home very happy with the 23-7 Texans’ victory against their bitter rival at the state.

The intensity was clear from the beginning of the match when Tony Romo, Cowboys’ field marshal, could hardly breathe with the devastating pressure of the Texan’s defensive line. On his first offensive attack he tried the Reliant grass twice by being caught first by Mario Williams and then by Omobi Okoye.

The intensity was also remarkable at the Texans offensive when at the first attack they scored touchdown thanks to a Matt Shaub’s excellent move. He found receptor Jacob Jones alone in a 24 yards pass. Texans advantage got to 10-0 in the second ball possession with a goal but they missed a great opportunity of scoring their second touchdown when they weren’t lucky at the red zone.

Jerry Jones’ guys seemed to react but when they were going to score, before the first half ended, Romo made a terrible mistake with a short pass to Felix Jones, who wasn’t ready to get it. The ball was promptly recovered by DeMeco Ryans. However, Texans, even when they got to the red zone once again, they couldn’t get the touchdown and they had to resign with a three point kick to increase their advantage to 13-0.
