According to first reviews, St Louis Rams are very pleased with quarterback Sam Bradford, who left a good impression in the first minicamp of his career as an NFL player. Bradford started as an offensive player in college at Oklahoma and was the first player taken in last month’s NFL draft.

“Sam did a terrific job,” Rams offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur commented on Sunday. “This is the first time he’s hearing things. All the reasons for drafting him were obvious. He’s very smart. He’s got a great command of the huddle. He has great attention to detail. He’s very talented.”

The rookie camp, which lasted three days, finished on Sunday with a single practice at Rams Park, with Bradford as the main star. The NFL player was pleased with his performance too. “I felt like I got more comfortable as the weekend went along,” he said. “I felt like, for the most part, that I made good decisions and got the ball where it needed to go.”

For Bradford, the main concern during practice football games was adjusting to the speed of the game. “It’s just a matter of watching tape, studying my playbook, and getting reps,” he commented. Next time he plays, he’ll be in the huddle with the NFL team veteran players but the Rams expect he’ll go to the next camp even smoother.
